The Delhi High Court has directed arbitration in the ongoing conflict between BharatPe and its ex-Managing Director, Ashneer Grover, concerning allegations of a leak of confidential information.

What Happened: The court has sent the case for arbitration, following claims that Grover disclosed sensitive company data on social media, thereby breaching his employment contract from August 2021.

BharatPe had lodged a request for arbitration, stating that Grover’s actions had compromised the company’s confidentiality, particularly in relation to equity distributions and secondary elements linked to its $370 million (around ₹2,738 crore) Series E funding round in 2021.

The legal dispute kicked off in November last year when BharatPe's parent firm, Resilient Innovations, launched proceedings against Grover. Despite Grover removing the controversial post, BharatPe insists that he still holds confidential company data post his resignation, violating his employment contract.

This arbitration directive is part of a broader legal feud between BharatPe and Grover, which also encompasses a civil suit accusing Grover and his family of embezzlement and seeking damages of up to ₹88.67 crore.
