Tata Motors has declared its partnership with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd. The collaboration aims to install 250 new fast-charging stations across the country.

What Happened: Tata Motors made the announcement on Wednesday, stating that the new charging stations will be strategically placed in and around over 50 cities. The initiative is designed to support the growing adoption of commercial EVs by e-commerce companies, parcel & courier service providers, and other industries for last-mile deliveries, thereby reducing their carbon footprint.

Tata Motors will suggest optimal locations and nearest dealerships for setting up these fast-charging stations. Delta Electronics will provide the required hardware, and Thunderplus Solutions will handle the installation and operation.

“Our endeavour is to make emission-free cargo transportation easily accessible. Expanding the available charging infrastructure on high-use routes will encourage more customers to opt for electric commercial vehicles,” said Vinay Pathak, vice president & business head – SCV & PU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles.

On Tuesday, S&P Global Ratings upgraded its ratings for several Tata Group companies, including Tata Motors, in August 2024. The global ratings agency highlighted the potential support these firms could receive from parent company Tata Sons, which appears to be even greater than initially anticipated.
