As everyone curses why couldn't Independence Day be on Friday and save themselves the trouble of taking a leave, this founder foresaw the surging sick leave on Friday and banned them. But he did provide a much better alternative to his employees.

What Happened: Shubham Singhal co-founder of Dot Media said in a LinkedIn post that he rejected all sick leave claims on August 16. Instead of that Singhal said the company is closing its office and giving all its employees a holiday on Friday thus making it a long weekend.

“On the occasion of ‘World Sick Leave Day,’ we at Dot Media have decided to reject all sick leave requests! While we understand that taking a leave on the 16th of August would make it a long weekend, it comes at a cost to the company. Instead, we've decided to close our office and give all our employees a well-deserved holiday!

The day corporates start valuing what their employees need, nothing can stop them from putting forth their best.
Because at Dot Media, our people come first, and their well-being drives our innovation :)”, Singhal wrote in the LinkedIn post.

The post received a lot of traction with comments asking Singhal for job opportunities in the company. The post currently has over 5,000 reactions and over 250 comments.

A user wrote, “Sir, resume bhejun???? 😭 Hire kar lo please. Main bohot funny hun” (Should I send resume? Please hire me, I am very funny). Another said, “Me in my mind – Ider koi vacancy hai kya” (Is there any vacancy here?).
