Blinkit has rolled out a rapid passport photo delivery feature in Delhi and Gurugram.

What Happened: The CEO of Blinkit, Albinder Dhindsa, announced the launch of the service in a post on the microblogging platform, X. It promises to deliver passport-sized photos within ten minutes, catering to urgent needs for visa documentation, admit cards, or rent agreements.

The company expressed enthusiasm about the new feature and is seeking customer feedback to refine it further. Blinkit plans to gradually extend this service to all the cities it operates in, Dhindsa added in his post.

Blinkit's parent firm Zomato posted its first quarter results earlier this month. Zomato’s net profit had multiplied 126 times to ₹253 crore, beating estimates. The results also showed quick-commerce arm Blinkit's revenue shooting up to ₹942 crore, up from ₹769 crore in the quarter ended March, with an EBIT of ₹43 crore. The company said Blinkit aims to get to 2,000 stores, latest by the end of 2026 while remaining profitable.

Zomato decided to invest ₹300 crore in Blinkit amidst rising competition in the quick commerce sector, reports said in June. This investment was aimed at strengthening Blinkit’s position in the market against rivals like Swiggy and Zepto.

Price Action: Zomato’s share prices were up 0.85% at ₹267.86 on Friday afternoon.
