Bharti Airtel will be reporting its results for the quarter ended June later today. Shares of the telecom major were in the red on Monday morning as broader markets fell in line with global fears of a recession in the US.

What To Expect: For the June quarter, Prabhudas Lilladher has factored in subscriber growth of 40 lakh users, bringing the telco’s total to 35.6 crore users, compared with the previous quarter’s addition of 67 lakh subscribers.

The average revenue per user (ARPU) is expected to remain flat at ₹210. The Airtel Africa business is expected to stay muted, quarter on quarter. The brokerage also projects a 4% sequential growth rate for the enterprise business and the direct-to-home (DTH) segment.

Centrum also expects Bharti Airtel to add approximately 40 lakh subscribers quarter on quarter. The ARPU is anticipated to grow by 1% sequentially to ₹211 per month, driven by the ongoing migration of subscribers from 2G to 4G and from prepaid to postpaid categories. The brokerage predicts around 2.5% sequential revenue growth, well-supported by other business segments.

Antique Broking forecasts the ARPU to improve marginally. The analysts anticipate continued momentum in the Airtel Business segment, projecting a 12% year-over-year growth.

Axis Securities suggests a sequential improvement, driven by increasing Indian mobile and digital revenue. It highlights that a strong service mix and an increase in ARPU may help in gaining margins. Additionally, it expects strong customer additions and conversions from 2G to 4G.

Price Action: Airtel’s share price was down 1.06% to trade at ₹1,478 as the markets opened on Monday.
