CDSL Sees Q1 Profit Zoom 82% To ₹134 Cr, Revenue Jumps 72%

CDSL reported its earnings for the quarter ended June on Saturday afternoon.

What Happened: The company’s revenue for the quarter came in at ₹257.38 crore, up around 72% from the ₹149.68 crore revenue booked in the same quarter last year. The company’s net profit zoomed over 82% to ₹134.20 crore, compared to the ₹73.57 crore profit posted in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

CDSL became the first depository to register over 12.5 crore demat accounts as of June 30, 2024. During Q1 FY 2024-25, 99 lakh new demat accounts were opened. EBITDA for the April-June period stood at ₹154.4 crore with an EBITDA margin of around 60%.

Last month, the company approved the issuance of bonus shares in a 1:1 ratio, meaning shareholders will receive one additional share for every share they currently hold. The record date for the bonus shares will be announced in due course.

Price Action: CDSL’s share price was up 0.63% to close at ₹2,453.20 on Friday.
