What Happened: The Kolkata-based shipbuilding company, GRSE, announced its partnership with the Hyderabad-based Medha Servo Drives Pvt Ltd on Tuesday. The companies plan to jointly manufacture advanced electrical and electronic equipment and systems.

The MoU is designed to combine GRSE’s extensive shipbuilding experience and system integration with Medha Servo Drives’ technological expertise in electrical and electronic equipment. The company stated in a press release, “This tie-up will be a major boost to the Government of India’s Atmanirbharta and ‘Make in India’ initiatives.” The financial impact of the MoU is yet to be determined.
