NHPC has confirmed the appointment of Sanjay Kumar Singh as the new director of projects. The appointment, effective from July 24, 2024, was announced by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

What Happened: Singh, who brings over 32 years of experience in the power and infrastructure sector, will serve in this role until his retirement on February 28, 2027, or until further orders.

Previously, Singh held the position of chief general manager at SJVN Ltd. His portfolio includes the successful execution of several mega projects in India and Bhutan.

NHPC is set to report its earnings for the quarter ended June on August 7. According to a company announcement, a meeting of the board of directors is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, August 7, to approve the financial results for the June quarter.

Analysts at Antique Broking have expressed concerns that NHPC's operations may be impacted by damages due to floods in Sikkim during the third quarter of fiscal year 2024 (3QFY24). The company is expected to see flat revenue growth year-on-year, with some decline in net profit for the April-June period.
