The NGT established a joint committee to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a ground report. The district magistrate informed the NGT that the muck dumping site has been sealed off and the road leading to it has been barricaded. RVNL and Megha Engineering Ltd have been served with a show cause notice.

The joint committee’s report disclosed that muck generated from tunnel construction was being dumped, and Megha Engineering Ltd was transporting mined material for crushing without obtaining the necessary permissions.
