HDFC Bank CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan was paid a total salary of ₹10.77 crore for the year ended March 2024. This is marginally higher than the ₹10.55 crore he was paid in the year ended March 2023.

His basic salary for the year was ₹2.94 crore and he received allowances and perquisites worth around ₹3.32 crore. He also received a ₹3.72 crore performance bonus. His salary was 167 times greater than the median salary of the private bank. He also holds 17.09 lakh equity shares in the lender as of March 31, 2024.

As of March 31, 2024, the number of permanent employees on the rolls of the Bank was 2.13 lakh. The median salary of the company went down by around 7%.

Jagdishan joined HDFC Bank in 1996 and has been instrumental in its growth. The 59-year-old started as a manager in the finance department and quickly progressed to business head – finance in 1999. By 2008, he became the CFO, a role he held for 12 years. Before HDFC Bank, he worked with Deutsche Bank AG, Mumbai, for three years.
