Microsoft saw a widespread service outage on Friday bringing business across the globe to a standstill.
What Happened: Many users complained of encountering the "Blue Screen of Death" with a prompt reading, "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart." The outage has led to several services across sectors going down.
Airports have been forced to shift to manual operations. Earlier in the day, the Delhi Airport notified of its services being impacted because of the issue.
"Due to the global IT issue, some of the services at the Delhi Airport were temporarily impacted. We are closely working with all our stakeholders to minimise the inconvenience to our flyers," it said in a post on micro-blogging platform X.
Air India, SpiceJet and IndiGo were among the many airlines that were affected. SpiceJet has switched to manual check-in and boarding processes across airports. Some IndiGo flights have also been cancelled due to the issue.

According to the outage tracking website, Downdetector India, several banks including State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Bank of India also saw disruptions in their services.
The Ministry of Information and Technology was also in touch with Microsoft regarding the issue, IT minister Ashwini Vaishnav notified in a post on X. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has also issued an advisory.
“It has been reported that Windows hosts related to CrowdStrike agent Falcon Sensor are facing outages and getting crashed due to a recent update received in the product,” CERT-In said on its website.
Microsoft has asked users to restore their Windows 365 Cloud PC to a stable state before the release of the update. Crowsdstrike has also issued a statement saying they're working on fixing the issue and adding that "this is not a security incident or cyberattack."
