One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, has launched a new health and income protection plan named ‘Paytm Health Saathi’ for its merchant partners.

What Happened: The announcement was made on Wednesday. The “Paytm Health Saathi” plan, accessible through the “Paytm for Business” app, is a part of the company’s ongoing initiative to provide affordable and comprehensive healthcare benefits to its extensive network of merchant partners.

The starting fee for the plan is ₹35 per month, the service offers unlimited teleconsultations with doctors, in-person doctor visits within its partner network, and income protection cover in the event of business interruptions caused by accidents or natural disasters.

A spokesperson from Paytm stated, “The launch of Paytm Health Saathi underlines our unwavering commitment to the welfare of our merchant partners. This initiative is in line with our mission to provide them with comprehensive and affordable coverage that supports their continued operations.”

The company informed that the pilot for the program was initiated in May and has already seen over 3,000 merchant partners avail the plan. Following its initial success, the company expanded this feature to all its merchants earlier this month.
