Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has unveiled new unlimited plans.
What Happened: The announcement was made on Thursday, June 27, 2024. The new plans, set to be available from July 3, 2024, guarantee to provide truly unlimited 5G data across India on its premium plans. The price hike is across all the plans offered by the company. On average the hike is around 20%.

Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Akash M Ambani, stated, “The launch of new plans is a stride towards fostering industry innovation and propelling sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology. Ubiquitous, high-quality, affordable internet is the backbone of Digital India and Jio takes pride in contributing to this.”
In addition to the new plans, the company also announced the launch of two new applications, JioSafe and JioTranslate. These apps will be available to Jio users free for a year. JioSafe is a quantum-secure communication app, while JioTranslate is an AI-powered multi-lingual communication app.
The hike in tariff comes after Jio acquired 14.4 MHz of spectrum in the 1800 MHz band for ₹973 crore in the recent spectrum auction. Previously Jio hiked tariffs by 20% in December 2021.
