Priyanka Chopra’s New York restaurant, Sona, is set to close its doors after more than three years of serving modern Indian cuisine.

What Happened: Known for its elegant atmosphere and celebrity patrons, Sona announced on Instagram that its last day of service will be June 30.

"After more than three remarkable years, Sona will be closing. We have immense gratitude for everyone who walked through our doors. It's been our greatest honour to serve you," read an excerpt from the restaurant's statement. "SONA's final service will be brunch on Sunday, June 30."

Co-founded in 2021 by Priyanka Chopra and Maneesh Goyal amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Sona became popular for its Indian dishes in the city. However, Chopra exited the venture in 2023, nearly two years after its launch.

The restaurant opened with a special puja attended by Chopra, her husband Nick Jonas, and close friends and family. Goyal shared an emotional note on Instagram about his journey with Sona.

“As I near the end of this monumental chapter, I could not be more proud. We accomplished so much-from a remarkable New York Times review to being a haven for the LGBT community,” Goyal wrote in a separate Instagram post. “Realizing SONA has been the honour of my lifetime. Perhaps the most meaningful is the vast number of people that have been firmly planted in my corner. I had – and have – so many people rooting for me. I know how fortunate I am.”
