Tata Elxsi has entered into a strategic partnership with enterprise open source solutions provider, Red Hat. The collaboration aims to bolster network monetisation for telecom companies.

What Happened: The partnership, announced on June 13, 2024, seeks to simplify operations in 5G networks for Telcos and enterprises. The move is expected to reduce operational expenditures and monetize applications. The alliance plans to set up a use case factory to assist global operators in leveraging their networks using industry-specific 5G applications across various sectors, including transportation, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Tata Elxsi’s TETHER, a globally deployed connected vehicle platform, and NEURON, an award-winning network automation platform, will be utilized in the collaboration. These will be integrated with Red Hat’s OpenShift and In-Vehicle Operating System. The combined solution will allow Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to roll out subscription-based services and platforms for connected vehicles with advanced fleet management features and real-time over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The integration of Tata Elxsi’s NEURON and Red Hat’s OpenShift will enable telecom companies to undergo a transformative shift towards seamless automation, cloud integration, service orchestration, and robust assurance. This is expected to streamline operations, significantly reduce operational expenditure, and enhance efficiency and profitability in the telecom industry.
