Meta‘s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, said the Meta Verified feature for WhatsApp Business is coming to India, as well as Brazil, Indonesia, and Colombia.
What Happened: Zuckerberg made this announcement at Meta’s annual Conversations event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, reported Techexclusive. The Meta Verified feature is designed to authenticate businesses on the platform, ensuring users are interacting with legitimate entities.
Initially launched for creators in February last year, the feature was extended to businesses on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp seven months later. The Meta Verified badge not only protects businesses from impersonation but also instils confidence in users about the authenticity of the businesses they are dealing with.

Furthermore, Meta is set to launch new AI tools for businesses on WhatsApp. These tools will offer users more information about the products they are looking for and automate the answering process for businesses.
Meta is also in the process of testing a feature that will enable users to call larger businesses on WhatsApp with a single tap. This feature is anticipated to be available in the forthcoming months.
