As Virat Kohli's wait for an IPL trophy continues, have you heard of a Kohli who has won the coveted title? Meet Taruwar Kohli who was part of the 2008 Rajasthan Royals squad that won the maiden edition of IPL.
Interestingly, Taruwar Kohli was also part of the 2008 under-19 squad in Malaysia where the Virat Kohli-led Indian team won the title. Taruwar was the fifth-highest run scorer in the tournament scoring 218 runs at an average of 43.18 in 6 innings. He scored 3 fifties with a high score of 63 not out.
In the 2008 IPL, Taruwar was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad where he only played in 2 matches. Rajasthan Royals under the leadership of late Australian great Shane Warne, lifted the title defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final. In 2009, Punjab Kings picked up Taruwar, where he played only 2 matches and couldn't make an impact. Taruwar never played the IPL after that.
