NHPC posted its results for the quarter after market close on Friday.
What Happened: The PSU’s net profit for the quarter came in at ₹549.81 crore, down around 16% from the ₹656.73 posted in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations was at ₹1,888.14, down around 7% from the ₹2,028.77 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of last year.

The company also announced a ₹0.50 per share final dividend for the year ended March 2024. EBITDA for the quarter came in at ₹885.4 crore with an EBITDA margin of 47%. Shares of the company have been upbeat ahead of the results. In the last 30 days, the stock has gone up around 11%. Earlier in the week, the company was included in the MSCI Global Standard Index. The company is expected to witness an inflow of $234 million (around ₹1953 crore) through this inclusion.
NHPC Limited stands as the largest hydropower company in India, operating under the administrative purview of the Ministry of Power. It is also a miniratna company.
Price Action: NHPC’s share price was up 1.07% to close at ₹99.25 as the markets opened on Friday.
