Larsen & Toubro has secured multiple orders in the renewable energy and grid systems sector, further strengthening its foothold in the clean energy domain.
What Happened: The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business of Larsen & Toubro announced on Wednesday that it has won several orders both in India and abroad. The domestic orders include two floating solar plants with a combined capacity of over 150 MWac, and a ground-mounted Solar PV of 120 MWac capacity.
Larsen & Toubro will also set up 765 kV Transmission Lines and a Gas Insulated Substation to integrate Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan and Karnataka. This will enable the transfer of Renewable Energy to different parts of the country.

On the international front, the company has secured an order in Kuwait for a 400kV Gas Insulated Substation and in Oman, it will construct a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line and two 400 kV Grid Stations. In the United Arab Emirates, the company has won orders for two 132 kV Substations.
Mr. T Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director & Sr Executive Vice President (Utilities), Larsen & Toubro, expressed his views on the development, stating, “Reliable, clean energy is the preferred form for electricity in propelling the growth of both traditional and emerging industries. It is heartening to see that the region makes substantial investments in both renewables and grid infrastructure in a timely manner.”
