JSW Energy posted its earnings for the March quarter after market close on Tuesday.
What Happened: The company’s net profit for the quarter came in at ₹351 crore, up around 29% from the ₹272 crore posted in the same quarter last year. The Sajjan Jindal-promoted company’s revenue from operations went up around 3% to ₹2,755 crore compared to the ₹2,669 crore posted in the same quarter last year.
The company’s EBITDA for the March quarter came in at ₹1,292 crore, up 47% from the year-ago period. EBITDA margin for the quarter was at 45%. Net debt to EBITDA was at 4.5x. The company also announced a ₹2/share dividend.

Net generation was at 6.4 billion units up 26% from the 5.06 billion units reported in the same quarter last year. The company said that the growth was driven by the contribution from the acquired renewable energy portfolio and greenfield
renewable energy (RE) capacity additions, and higher thermal generation. RE generation was up by 124% YoY at 1.3 billion units while Thermal generation was up by 14% YoY at 5.1 billion units.
Price Action: JSW Energy shares were down 6.08% to close at ₹580 on Tuesday.
