How To Create And Manage An Event On WhatsApp

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to create events within groups, making it easier to organize gatherings such as virtual meetings or birthday dinners directly through the app. The feature removes the need for third-party apps for event management within groups, streamlining the process of organizing gatherings directly through WhatsApp.

How to use WhatsApp’s Event Planning Feature

Step 1: Update Your WhatsApp and make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device to access the new events feature.

Step 2: Open WhatsApp and go to the group where you want to create an event. This feature will initially be available to groups that are part of WhatsApp's Communities and will gradually roll out to all groups.

Step 3: Tap on the group's name at the top of the chat to open the Group Info page.

Step 4: Look for a new option to create an event. Enter all the relevant details of your event, such as the title, location, date, and time.

Step 5: Once you have filled in the event details, publish the event. Group members will automatically receive a notification about the new event and can respond directly within the group.

Once an event has been created, group members can check who has responded to the event invite by visiting the event section on the Group Info page. Here, responses of group members will be visible, helping you keep track of who is attending.

As the event date approaches, WhatsApp will send automatic reminders to those who have accepted the invite. This ensures that everyone is kept in the loop and reminded of the upcoming event.

In addition to creating events, group admins can now make announcements related to the event. Members can respond to these announcements, facilitating better communication and event management.
