In a bid to streamline its delivery process, food delivery behemoth, Zomato, is currently testing a new service in corporate parks.
What Happened: As per a report by Entrackr, Zomato has launched a pilot service in Gurugram, setting up a micro hub within an office complex. The objective of this service is to ensure prompt deliveries, save delivery partners’ time, and eliminate the inconvenience for employees who are often unable to receive deliveries beyond the reception area.

The innovative system involves delivery partners leaving food at the micro hub, from where a “walker” collects the parcel and delivers it to the customer at their exact location within the building. This service is currently being trialled at approximately five to six locations in Gurugram, including Unitech Cyber Park.
While this concept is a first for online food ordering platforms in India, it is a common practice in China. If the pilot program proves successful, the service could be rolled out in the top five cities in India.
