Bajaj Twins Among Top Gainers As Markets End The Financial Year On A High

Thursday’s trading session witnessed a mixed bag of performances among the NIFTY 50 stocks. Bajaj Finserv emerged as the top gainer, while Axis Bank trailed as the biggest loser.

Leading the pack of gainers, Bajaj Finserv surged by 3.87% to close at ₹1643.85, compared to its last close of ₹1582.65. Following closely, Grasim Industries gained 3.62% to settle at ₹2287.30, a significant rise from its previous close of ₹2207.35.

Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp also had a good day at the bourses, with its stock price climbing 3.27% to ₹4722.30, up from its last close of ₹4572.55. Bajaj Finance too saw a healthy gain of 3.17%, closing at ₹7245.25, as against its last close of ₹7022.75.

Completing the top five gainers, Eicher Motors rose by 2.70% to end the day at ₹4019.30, compared to its previous close of ₹3913.80.

On the flip side, Axis Bank led the list of losers with its stock price dipping by 0.54% to ₹1047.20, down from its last close of ₹1052.85. Reliance Industries too faced a slight setback, with its stock price falling by 0.47% to ₹2971.70, compared to its previous close of ₹2985.70.

IT major Tech Mahindra saw a marginal decline of 0.45%, with its stock price closing at ₹1248.10, down from its last close of ₹1253.80. Britannia Industries also slipped by 0.18% to close at ₹4911.25, as against its last close of ₹4920.20.

Rounding off the list of top five losers, HCL Technologies saw a slight dip of 0.17%, with its stock price settling at ₹1543.55, down from its last close of ₹1546.20.

On Thursday, March 28, the Indian stock market benchmarks, namely the Nifty 50 and the Sensex, concluded the financial year 2024 on a positive note, registering significant gains. The BSE benchmark Sensex experienced a notable surge of 655 points or 0.9%, settling at 73,651. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty witnessed a robust increase of 203 points or 0.92%, closing at 22,327.
