At 60, most people are contemplating retirement, but Krishnadas Paul was just getting started. Born into a family that ran a modest distribution business in West Bengal, Krishnadas initially followed in his father’s footsteps. However, after decades of distributing for brands like Dabur and Bournvita, he decided it was time for a change.

What to know: In a move that stunned many, he stepped away from the family business to chase his dream of creating his brand. This is how Bisk Farm came into existence.

Krishnadas founded SAJ Foods, named after his children, and launched Bisk Farm in 2000, aiming to introduce a sugar-free biscuit brand that offered unique flavours. Despite facing early setbacks and mounting losses, Krishnadas refused to quit.

He pivoted his strategy towards Eastern India, introducing products tailored to regional tastes. This decision paid off handsomely, with Bisk Farm eventually claiming a 40% market share in the East and becoming the second-largest biscuit brand in the region.

Not content with just biscuits, Krishnadas expanded into the bakery sector with Just Baked, further solidifying his company’s presence in the market. By maintaining affordable prices and widening his distribution network, he managed to transform Bisk Farm into a Pan-India brand.

Sadly, the visionary behind Bisk Farm, Krishnadas Paul, passed away on August 3, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of determination and grit.

Bisk Farm’s rise to become the 4th largest player nationally with a 4% market share by 2023 is a testament to Krishnadas’s vision and perseverance. His legacy continues to inspire, proving that age is but a number when it comes to building successful businesses.
