The top performer, BPCL, saw its stock price surge to ₹587.80, marking a significant increase of 3.73% from its last close at ₹566.65. Following closely behind was fellow PSU stock NTPC, which also had a strong showing. The stock closed at ₹325.0, up by 3.62% from its previous close at ₹313.65.

Completing the list of top five gainers was Coal India, which saw its stock price increase by 2.99% to ₹432.05, up from its last close at ₹419.5.

On the flip side, the biggest loser of the day was Bharti Airtel, with its stock price dropping by 0.89% to ₹1,220.80 from its last close at ₹1,231.80. Other underperformers included HDFC Life Insurance Company, which saw a minor dip of 0.66% to ₹622.25 from its last close at ₹626.40, and ONGC, which slipped by 0.34% to ₹262.95 from its last close at ₹263.85.
Auto major, Maruti Suzuki, also saw a slight decrease of 0.28% in its stock price to ₹11,908.15 from its last close at ₹11,941.15. Similarly, ICICI Bank experienced a minor drop of 0.25% to ₹1,081.80 from its last close at ₹1,084.50.
