Tata Stocks Led Losers As Markets Manage To End In Green After Volatile Session

On Wednesday, the top five gainers were led by Eicher Motors, while Tata Steel was the most significant loser.

Eicher Motors emerged as the star performer with a 4.22% surge, taking its current price to ₹3,873.60 from the previous close of ₹3,716.85. Following closely was another auto giant Maruti Suzuki, which saw a 2.97% increase in its stock price. The stock closed at ₹11,941.15, up from its last close of ₹11,597.05.

Power Grid Corporation of India and Nestle India also had a good day in the trading session, with their stocks gaining 2.18% and 2.17% respectively. Their current prices stood at ₹264.65 and ₹2,550.25, up from their last close.

ONGC rounded off the top five performers with a 1.77% increase, taking its current price to ₹263.85 from ₹259.25.

On the flip side, Tata Steel was the biggest loser, with its stock price falling by 2.08% to ₹145.65 from its last close of ₹148.75.

Tata Consumer Products and Tata Motors also faced a tough day in the market, with their stocks declining by 1.94% and 1.81% respectively. Their current prices were ₹1124.05 and ₹940.45, down from their previous close.

Axis Bank and Cipla completed the list of underperformers, with their stocks falling by 1.53% and 1.27% respectively. Their current prices stood at ₹1034.75 and ₹1417.40, down from their last close.

The Sensex and Nifty 50 ended Wednesday’s trading session with modest gains. Although they opened with slight increases, both indices experienced volatility throughout the session. Ultimately, the Sensex closed at 72,101.69, up by 90 points or 0.12%, while the Nifty 50 settled with a gain of 22 points or 0.10%, at 21,839.10.
