Nothing Phone Order Turns Into E-Commerce Nightmare As Flipkart Stalls Return

A Flipkart customer recently voiced his dissatisfaction with the return policy of online retailer after receiving the wrong product in his order.

What Happened: X user Tuyyab, on Sunday took to the social media platform to express his displeasure with Flipkart’s return policy.

He said he ordered a Nothing Phone 2a, but received a product from a different brand, ikall. Despite having video evidence of the unboxing, he claimed his return requests were rejected by the seller on Flipkart.

The customer further explained that he was unable to upload the required images for the second replacement request. He also mentioned that the delivery was not an Open Box Delivery, as promised, but an OTP-based one, and he opened the product in the presence of the delivery person. He also shared a video of the unboxing to prove his point.

Why It Matters: Despite having video evidence of the unboxing and the wrong product, his return requests were allegedly rejected, highlighting gaps in the e-commerce platform’s returns policy. He has since filed another replacement request and logged a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline.

Tuyyab’s tweet has sparked a debate about the restrictive return policies of online retailers, which he argues push consumers towards offline markets. He stated, “In an age where digital empowerment and consumer rights are emphasized, this is a step backwards.”

He also suggested that Carl Pei’s Nothing should reconsider its partnership with Flipkart and said he would take legal action if needed.

Many commentators spoke in support of Tuyyab’s predicament, with one suggesting that the Flipkart-exclusive deal was a major reason why they would not buy a Nothing phone.
