The gifting of 15 lakh shares to his grandson has resulted in a slight dip in Narayana Murthy’s stake in Infosys, bringing it down from 0.40% to 0.36%, equating to over 1.51 crore shares. Notably, this significant share transfer was completed off-market, as detailed in the filing.

The story behind the gift is as rich as its value. Ekagrah, born in November 2023 to Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan, carries a name that means ‘unwavering focus’ in Sanskrit, suggesting high hopes for his future. As the third grandchild of the Murthy lineage, joining two granddaughters from Akshata Murty and son-in-law Rishi Sunak, Ekagrah’s arrival has undoubtedly brought immense joy and pride to the family.
