Times Group's Cricbuzz To Roll Out New Cricket Channel In Partnership With Dubai Firm

United Arab Emirates-based eVision, the media and entertainment arm of telecom conglomerate e&, has forged a strategic partnership with Times Internet-owned cricket platform Cricbuzz to introduce Cricbuzz TV.

What It’s All About: This new channel is dedicated to showcasing premier global cricket competitions and events, according to media reports. Through this collaboration, fans can expect enhanced live cricket coverage on platforms such as eLife, SwitchTV and Starzplay throughout the year, offering a more immersive cricket-viewing experience.

e&, also known as Emirates Telecommunications Group Company, operates as a multinational telecom operator based in the UAE. its media arm, eVision, is the largest content aggregator across the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.

In addition to broadcasting top-tier global cricket matches and tournaments exclusively, Cricbuzz TV will feature a range of exclusive and original programming curated by Cricbuzz.

Olivier Bramly, CEO of eVision, said this partnership will “deliver exceptional sports entertainment” to its audiences. He further emphasized eVision’s commitment to cricket in the Middle East, with existing channels like CricLife, and highlighted the potential of Cricbuzz TV to elevate the cricket-viewing experience in the region further.

As part of its broadcasting commitments, eVision will continue exclusively hosting ICC tournaments on its CricLife MAX channels until 2027. Meanwhile, Cricbuzz TV is gearing up to kickstart its coverage with the upcoming Pakistan Super League matches.

While at home, Reliance is setting up to be a mammoth in the cricket broadcasting space after its takeover of Disney Star, the Times Group has focused on broadcasting cricket matches outside India, having acquired the rights to broadcast Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) matches in places like North America and Southeast Asia.
