Flipkart, India’s e-commerce heavyweight, is gearing up to dive into the quick commerce game, setting the stage for an intensified battle in the fast delivery domain.

What Happened: Sources told Entrackr that Flipkart is on track to launch rapid 10-15 minute delivery services across a dozen cities within the next six to eight weeks.

The company is strategically establishing a network of dark stores in major cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi (NCR), and Hyderabad, to facilitate this quick turnaround.

This move comes as quick commerce is predicted to significantly carve into the e-commerce market share in India, with a potential worth of nearly $45 billion. The sector has demonstrated resilience, with platforms like Zepto and Zomato's Blinkit solidifying investor confidence in quick commerce’s viability in the Indian market.

Flipkart’s quick commerce ambitions include a broader selection of products than current leaders Zepto and Blinkit, emphasizing not only FMCG, groceries, and essentials but also venturing into electronics and fashion.

This expansion is part of Flipkart's broader strategy to enhance customer satisfaction by offering an array of products with speedy delivery, recently evidenced by their launch of same-day delivery in 20 cities and seasonal offerings like flowers and cakes.
