Anand Mahindra, in a gesture of sportsmanship and respect, tipped his hat off to Tata Motors, acknowledging their pioneering role in the Indian truck industry. He especially commended the “outstanding” contributions of the late Sumant Moolgaokar in sculpting the company’s legacy.
What Happened? “Tata has been a pioneer and pathbreaker in the Indian truck industry,” Mahindra, the chairperson of the Mahindra Group, stated on X. “We acknowledge, with admiration, the architect of Tata Motors — the ‘outstanding’ industrialist Sumant Moolgaokar. We consider it a privilege to join them and compete in this industry. By doing so, we add to the manufacturing capability and competence of India.”
The reaction on X to Mahindra’s acknowledgement was overwhelmingly positive, with users lauding the spirit of healthy rivalry between the two giants. One user expressed, “Tata Motors and Mahindra make us proud wherever we go over the globe. Just yesterday only we watched the Scorpio Pikup offering more and more value and winning against the mighty land cruiser in Australia!” Another echoed the sentiment, “Being Indian matters the most.
