Bajaj Finserv Leads Nifty 50 Gainers As Markets End In Red

On Friday, Bajaj Finserv and BPCL led the pack of gainers and losers respectively on the Nifty 50 index.

Bajaj Finserv emerged as the top gainer, with its stock price surging to ₹1615.0, marking a 1.41% increase from its last close at ₹1592.55.

Life insurance companies also had a good run, with HDFC Life Insurance and SBI Life Insurance securing spots in the top five gainers. HDFC Life’s stock price rose by 1.05% to ₹580.70, while SBI Life saw a 1.15% increase, with its stock closing at ₹1527.0.

Pharmaceutical giant Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and technology firm LTIMindtree also made it to the list of top performers. Dr. Reddy’s stock price increased by 0.98% to ₹6426.30, and LTIMindtree’s stock price rose by 1.06% to ₹5,545.0.

On the flip side, BPCL was the biggest loser, with its stock price dipping by 1.39% to ₹617.20. It was closely followed by HCLTech, which saw a 1.30% decrease in its stock price, closing at ₹1,664.40.

Other companies that faced a slump include ONGC, Maruti Suzuki, and Asian Paints. ONGC’s stock price fell by 1.16% to ₹271.50, Maruti’s stock price decreased by 1.15% to ₹11,524.0, and Asian Paints’ stock price dropped by 0.97% to ₹2,988.0.

Domestic benchmark indices, the Sensex and the Nifty 50, concluded Friday’s session slightly lower. The Nifty 50 marked a record high for the fifth consecutive session before reversing its trend.

Except for Nifty Realty, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty Consumer Durables, all other sectoral indices closed in negative territory. The BSE Sensex ended down by 15.44 points or 0.02% at 73,142.80, while the broader NSE index dropped 4.75 points or 0.02% to 22,212.70.
