Auto Giants Lead Gainers As Markets Stage Late-Hour Comeback

Following closely was HCL Technologies Ltd., which saw a 3.06% rise. The stock ended the trading day at ₹1686.40, up from its last close of ₹1636.30.

Eicher Motors Ltd. also had a good run, with a 2.99% increase. The stock closed at ₹3,951.40, a significant jump from its last close of ₹3,836.35.

Another stock that gained traction was Coal India Ltd. It closed at ₹445.15, marking a 2.81% increase from its last close of ₹432.95. ITC Ltd. rounded off the top five gainers, with a 2.75% increase. The stock closed at ₹414.45, up from its previous close of ₹403.35.

HDFC Bank Ltd. also took a hit, with a 1.36% decrease. The stock ended the trading day at ₹1,419.55, down from its last close of ₹1,439.15.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. followed suit, with a 1.22% decrease. The stock closed at ₹1,724.75, down from its last close of ₹1,746.10. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. also ended the day in the red, with a 1.15% decrease. The stock closed at ₹625.90, down from its last close of ₹633.20.

Finally, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. rounded off the top five losers, with a 0.87% decrease. The stock closed at ₹4,495.15, down from its previous close of ₹4,534.85.

Domestic equity indices Sensex and Nifty 50 rebounded from early losses on Thursday, settling higher driven by gains in IT, auto, and metal stocks. The broader markets also recovered, with the Midcap index up over 1.1%, and the Smallcap index up 0.7%. At close, the Sensex rose by 535.15 points or 0.74% to 73,158.24, while the Nifty gained 162.50 points or 0.74% to 22,217.50.
