Reports of UPI, India’s instant pyament network, being down were coming in on Saturday, with several users being unable to make payments through apps such as PhonePe, Google Pay and Cred.
What Happened: Users were facing issues with the unified payments interface was being reported down, with many reporting that the servers were unresponsive.
Official communication from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is still awaited. However, the server-tracking website downdetetcor.com shows a massive spike in reports of downtime for the UPI network.

Several users on social media platform X were also reporting server issues, with payments made through UPI apps failing to go through, and asking for a response from the NPCI.
It is likely that a server outage would be affecting all UPI apps, however, no response from national lenders has been issued so far.
