Wipro Leads Nifty 50 Gainers As Markets End The Week In Green

Friday’s trading session witnessed a mixed bag of fortunes for the Nifty 50 stocks. Wipro and SBI Life emerged as the top gainers, while PowerGrid and Britannia bore the brunt of the market’s volatility.

Leading the pack of gainers, Wipro saw its stock price surge by 4.52% to ₹541.95, up from its last close of ₹518.50. The IT giant’s robust performance was closely followed by SBI Life, which witnessed a 4.17% increase in its stock price, closing at ₹1,514.00.

Auto sector stocks also had a good day on the market. Mahindra & Mahindra saw a significant rise of 4.13% in its stock price, closing at ₹1,838.00. Bajaj Auto also joined the ranks of the top performers with a 2.72% increase, closing at ₹8,344.00.

Completing the top five gainers, Adani Ports saw its stock price rise by 3.39% to ₹1,310.10.

On the other side of the spectrum, PowerGrid led the list of losers, with its stock price falling by 2.53% to ₹274.50. Britannia also experienced a dip in its stock price by 0.57%, closing at ₹4922.00.

Other stocks that faced a downturn include SBI, with a marginal drop of 0.57% in its stock price, closing at ₹757.35. Reliance Industries also saw a slight decrease of 0.55%, with its stock price closing at ₹2925.00.

Rounding off the list of top five losers, NTPC saw its stock price fall by 0.54% to ₹337.40.

The domestic benchmark indices continued their upward trajectory on Friday, marking the fourth consecutive session of gains. At close, the Sensex surged by 376.26 points or 0.52% to reach 72,426.64, while the Nifty climbed 129.90 points or 0.59% to settle at 22,040.70.

Among sectors, except for PSU Bank, oil & gas, and power, all others traded in positive territory, with auto, capital goods, pharma, IT, and realty witnessing gains of 1-2%. Overall market sentiment remained positive, with more advancing stocks compared to declining ones.
