IndiGo Passenger Fumes Over Screw In Sandwich, Airline Says Can't Do Much

An IndiGo passenger recently took to Reddit to complain about allegedly finding a screw in their sandwich and was met with a disappointing response from the IndiGo crew.

What Happened: The Reddit user shared images of the screw within their sandwich under the “Bangalore” subreddit. The image shows a “Spinach and Corn” sandwich with an IndiGo sticker. The traveller said that it was served on a flight they boarded in February when they were travelling from Bengaluru to Chennai.

Further elaborating, the poster said they reached out to IndiGo for assistance. However, the airline allegedly responded by saying that as the sandwich was consumed post-flight, no redressal could be provided.

The Reddit user sought advice on the platform on how to effectively address the issue with IndiGo in the post.

One commentator suggested that the user approach the consumer court, which they explained wasn’t as daunting as other courts and could resolve the matter in two hearings.

Another user found a humourous way of siding with the airline on the issue: “If you found it on board then you’d have a case but you can’t pin it on them now. So, for now, accept that you’re screwed. You’d be nuts to go after them because you can’t nail them. Next time you see an Indigo flight, bolt!”
