Healthcare giant Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited also had a good run, with a 3.31% rise, ending the day at ₹6437.35. The stock has been performing well, mirroring the growth in the healthcare sector.

Pharmaceutical major Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited wasn’t far behind, registering a 2.93% increase, closing at ₹1534.80. Lastly, ICICI Bank Limited rounded off the top five gainers with a 2.16% gain, closing at ₹1010.70.

On the flip side, the auto sector faced a setback with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited witnessing a 2.34% fall, closing at ₹1646.40.

Energy sector player Oil and Natural Gas Corporation also faced a slump, with a 2.05% drop, ending the day at ₹267.55. Telecom giant Bharti Airtel Limited saw a 1.91% decrease, closing at ₹1120.25.

Power sector heavyweight NTPC Limited recorded a 1.81% fall, closing at ₹324.90. Lastly, Hindalco Industries closed at ₹591.30, marking a 1.66% drop, rounding off the list of bottom five performers.

In a day marked by volatile trading, India’s benchmark indices exhibited resilience by rebounding from the day’s lows to conclude the week on a positive note. Despite broader market indices registering a downturn of approximately 1%, specific sector indices, particularly Metal and Oil & Gas, experienced declines exceeding 1%.

At the closing bell, the Sensex displayed a gain of 167.06 points, equivalent to a 0.23% increase, settling at 71,595.49. Simultaneously, the Nifty demonstrated an upward movement of 64.55 points, translating to a 0.3% rise, concluding the day at 21,782.50.
