Among the top gainers, Just Dial, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), and Bharat Dynamics stole the limelight, while Paytm and Borosil Renewables were the top losers.

Just Dial saw its stock price surging by 7.95% to ₹893.60, up from its previous close of ₹827.80. Following closely was Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), which saw its stock price climb by 7.96% to ₹103.75, compared to its last close of ₹96.10.

Bharat Dynamics also had a strong day, with its stock price jumping by 9.00% to ₹1912.65, a significant increase from its last close of ₹1754.70. General Insurance Corporation of India and The New India Assurance Company also joined the top gainers list, with their stock prices rising by 9.20% and 11.56% to ₹441.10 and ₹304.40, respectively.

On the flip side, Paytm had a rough day, with its stock price plummeting by 9.99% to ₹446.65, down from its previous close of ₹496.25. Borosil Renewables also faced a setback, with its stock price falling by 9.29% to ₹551.80, compared to its last close of ₹608.30. UCO Bank, Varroc Engineering, and Indian Overseas Bank rounded off the list of top losers.

The domestic equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, closed lower, influenced by rate-sensitive sectors, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to keep its key interest rate unchanged for the sixth consecutive meeting. The BSE Sensex ended 1% lower at 71,428.43, down by 723.57 points, while the Nifty 50 closed at 21,717.95, down 0.97% or 212.55 points. The Nifty Midcap 100 remained flat, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 closed 0.4% lower.
