Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli is parting ways with Puma, his long-time sponsor, to become the brand ambassador for Agilitas Sports, as per a CNBC TV18 report.

What Happened: Kohli will not only endorse Agilitas Sports’ products but also own stakes in the company. This development will conclude Kohli’s eight-year association with Puma, which started in 2017 with a ₹110 crore deal.

Agilitas Sports, established by former Puma India MD Abhishek Ganguly in May 2023, has witnessed rapid growth since its inception. The company recently raised ₹100 crore from Nexus Venture to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and introduce new sportswear brands.

Ganguly, who was part of the Puma India team when Kohli first signed with the brand, had praised the cricketer in 2017, saying, “Virat has transformed the way fitness is looked at in Indian cricket… He is a youth icon with an effortless style.”

However, Puma India’s current managing director of PUMA India said, that their relationship with Kohli is long-standing and would continue. "PUMA's relationship with Virat Kohli is long-standing and continues," read the statement.
