Titan Company also experienced a notable decrease, with a 3.29% drop to INR 3739.45. UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finserv, and NTPC were among the other major losers, witnessing declines of 3.06%, 2.88%, and 2.80% respectively.
On January 30, after a robust surge the previous day, the Nifty 50 and Sensex both retreated by around 1%, driven by profit-taking and cautious sentiment ahead of the US Fed policy outcome and the Interim Budget. The Nifty 50 closed down 216 points (0.99%) at 21,522.10, while the Sensex ended 802 points (1.11%) lower at 71,139.90.
With the exception of realty and PSU Bank, all other sectoral indices closed in negative territory, with capital goods, FMCG, pharma, and power witnessing declines of 0.5-1%. The BSE Midcap index fell by 0.5%, while the Smallcap index ended flat.
