Bajaj Auto Leads Gainers As Markets End The Week In Red

Bajaj Auto topped the gainers’ list with a notable surge of 5.33%, closing at ₹7,597.5, up from its previous close of ₹7,212.85.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone also performed well, with a 2.29% increase, ending at ₹1,146.3. NTPC, Coal India, and IndusInd Bank were other top gainers, with respective increases of 1.91%, 1.78%, and 1.42%.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra emerged as the biggest loser, with a sharp decline of 6.10%, closing at ₹1,322.05.

Cipla, Bharti Airtel, LTIMindtree, and SBI Life Insurance also faced declines, with decreases of 3.37%, 2.47%, 2.22%, and 2.1%, respectively.

Equity benchmarks, Nifty 50 and Sensex resumed their downward trend on Thursday, January 25, with losses led by select banking and IT heavyweights, including HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, and TCS. Nifty 50 opened at 21,454.60, dipped to an intraday low of 21,247.05, and ended 101 points, or 0.47%, lower at 21,352.60. The Sensex opened at 71,022.10, fell to an intraday low of 70,319.04, and finally ended 360 points, or 0.51%, lower at 70,319.04. Mid and small-caps outperformed the benchmarks, with the BSE Midcap index ending with a loss of 0.36%, and the Smallcap index ending with a gain of 0.54%.
