Railway Stock Jumps Over 18% To Lead Nifty 500 Gainers

RITES stood out as the top gainer, experiencing an impressive surge of 18.55%, closing at ₹684.75, up from the last close of ₹577.60.

ACC also saw a strong performance, with its stock price increasing by 10.13% to ₹2,467.65. Other significant gainers included Metro Brands, Gujarat Ambuja Exports, and NBCC (India), with increases of 10.09%, 9.84%, and 8.98%, respectively.

On the downside, Aarti Drugs emerged as one of the biggest losers, with a decline of 5.74% to ₹504.55.

KPIT Technologies, Balkrishna Industries, Indraprastha Gas, and Tech Mahindra were among the top losers, with their stock prices falling by 6.05%, 6.91%, 6.84%, and 6.1% respectively.

Equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex experienced losses on Thursday, January 25, driven by banking and IT heavyweights such as HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, and TCS. Nifty 50 opened at 21,454.60 and dropped as much as 207 points to an intraday low of 21,247.05 before ending 101 points, or 0.47%, lower at 21,352.60. The Sensex opened at 71,022.10, hit an intraday low of 70,319.04, and ended 360 points, or 0.51%, lower at 70,319.04. Mid and small caps outperformed the benchmarks, with the BSE Midcap index down 0.36%, and the Smallcap index gaining 0.54%.
