Wednesday’s trading session on the NIFTY 50 index saw Infosys and HDFC Bank emerge as the biggest gainer and loser, respectively.

Infosys, appreciated by 0.53% from its last close, marking its current price at ₹1640.2. This positive change made it the top performer of the day.

Following Infosys in gains were HCL Technologies, SBI Life Insurance, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, and Tata Consultancy Services, experiencing positive movements in their stock prices.

On the other side, alongside HDFC Bank’s decline, other stocks such as Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hindalco Industries, and Axis Bank also witnessed notable decreases.

The Indian stock market witnessed its largest single-day decline in the last 1.5 years today. The Nifty 50 fell by 2.09%, while the Sensex suffered a loss of 2.23%. At the close of the trading day, the Sensex was down 1,628.01 points at 71,500.76, and the Nifty was down 460.30 points at 21,572. On June 13, 2022, Nifty 50 had fallen 2.64% and Sensex had suffered a loss of 2.68%.
