Nifty 500 Gainers: LIC-Backed Midcap PSU Stock Jumps 8%

Wednesday’s trading session witnessed a buoyant performance from 3M India and HUDCO, while Motilal Oswal Financial Services was among the major losers in the NIFTY 500 index.

With a staggering 15.72% rise, 3M India emerged as the top gainer of the day. The stock closed at ₹36,389.95, a substantial leap from its previous close at ₹31,447.60.

Following closely, HUDCO registered an impressive 8.06% increase. The stock moved up to ₹114.00 from its last close at ₹105.50. LIC owns a 5.78% stake in the company.

Other notable performers include Sharda Cropchem, Sona BLW Precision Forgings, and Poly Medicure. They recorded percentage changes of 6.42%, 6.16%, and 5.56% respectively.

On the flip side, Motilal Oswal bore the brunt of the market’s downward forces. The stock closed at ₹1,210.85, down by 3.51% compared to its last close. This marked the most significant decline among the stocks on the NIFTY 500 index today.

Also struggling were Safari Industries and Phoenix Mills, with their stocks depreciating by 3.51% and 3.03%, respectively. Castrol India and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy also faced the heat, with their stocks depreciating by 2.90% and 2.35% respectively.
