India’s Nifty 50 index experienced a mixed trading day on Friday, with Wipro Ltd. leading the top gainers, while HDFC Bank Ltd. emerged as one of the key laggards.

Wipro a major player in the IT services sector, recorded a significant surge of 6.6%, closing at ₹462.65. This marked a remarkable performance for the company, providing a boost to its shareholders.

Following Wipro was HCLTech, another IT giant, with a commendable rise of 2.86%, ending the day at ₹1,462.70. The positive trend in the tech sector reflected growing investor confidence.

Other notable gainers included Hindalco Industries with a 2.55% increase to ₹570.45, Tata Motors gaining 2.24% to ₹724.70, and Hero MotoCorp advancing by 2.22% to ₹3,935.70.

On the downside, HDFC Bank experienced a minor setback of 0.94%, closing at ₹1,670.85, making it the most notable laggard of the day.

Bajaj Finance also saw a slight decline of 0.98%, ending at ₹7,295.30. ICICI Bank and State Bank of India registered declines of 1.01% and 1.09%, closing at ₹994.30 and ₹636.75 respectively. Grasim Industries, part of the Aditya Birla Group, also fell by 1.89% to ₹2,046.20.
