On Thursday, the Indian stock market soared to new heights. The Nifty 50 was led by India’s IT giants, with all the top five spots going to them. The Nifty IT Index surged up over 3% today.
HCL Technologies Ltd led the charge among IT firms with a significant increase in its stock price. The shares of HCL Technologies rose by 3.32%, closing at ₹1,414.60, up from the last close of ₹1,369.20.

Other IT companies such as Wipro and Infosys also showed strong performances, with their stocks rising by 3.51% and 3.62%, respectively. LTI Mindtree and Tech Mahindra followed suit, marking gains of 3.79% and 4.0%.
However, not all sectors fared as well. Power Grid Corporation of India experienced a notable decline, with its stock falling by 2.05% to ₹232.10 from ₹236.95.
HDFC Life Insurance Company also saw a dip in its stock price, with a decrease of 1.96% to ₹684.55 from ₹698.20. Nestle India and Cipla reported losses close to 1%.
