Elon Musk's Grok AI Debuts In India: Here's How To Use It

Elon Musk’s xAI has expanded the reach of its AI-powered chatbot, Grok AI, making it available in India and 46 other countries, including Pakistan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. This follows its initial launch for Premium+ subscribers of X (formerly Twitter) in the US. In India, accessing Grok requires a subscription to X Premium+, priced at ₹1,300 monthly or ₹13,600 annually.

How’s Grok AI different? Grok AI stands out with its unique design to “answer questions with a bit of wit” and a “rebellious streak,” as per xAI’s announcement. It offers real-time information access, unlike other market players, drawing data directly from X. Grok can handle queries typically rejected by major AI chatbots. Developed on xAI’s Grok-0 large language model, it boasts 33 billion parameters, claiming to outperform the likes of ChatGPT (GPT 3.5).

However, Grok AI’s launch wasn’t without controversy. The chatbot, reflecting its rebellious nature, once roasted Elon Musk, describing him as a ‘delicate flower’ and critiquing various aspects of his persona and decisions. Users have noted Grok’s differing political stances from its creator, Musk, prompting him to promise adjustments for a more politically neutral stance.
