PSU Stocks Takes Spots In Nifty 500 Gainers Today

Monday’s trading session on the NSE saw a lively performance from the NIFTY 500 index. Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. emerged as the top gainer with a surge of over 11%, while Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. followed closely with a rise of nearly 9%.

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. closed at ₹215.3, reflecting an impressive increase from its last close at ₹193.7. Meanwhile, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. traded at ₹376.5, up from its previous close of ₹345.55.

Other performers making it to the top five included the Central Bank of India, Adani Green Energy Ltd., and Cyient Ltd. Central Bank of India saw a solid 9% increase, closing at ₹48.3. Adani Green Energy Ltd. and Cyient Ltd. weren’t far behind, registering gains of 9.47% and 9.54% respectively. Adani Green Energy Ltd. ended the day at ₹1,123.75, while Cyient Ltd. closed at ₹2,189.15.

On the flip side, the index saw some laggards as well. Whirlpool of India Ltd. took the hardest hit, declining by almost 6.71% to close at ₹1321.05. KNR Constructions Ltd. lost over 5.51% of its value, ending the day at ₹269.85. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., Delta Corp Ltd., and Bikaji Foods International Ltd. also saw significant drops in their stock prices, recording losses of 3.99%, 3.77%, and 2.91% respectively.

Overall, while the top performers like Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. brought cheer to investors, the underperformers led by Whirlpool of India Ltd. reminded the market of its inherent volatility.
