Insurance Stocks Dominate Gainers List On The Nifty 500

On Friday, the NIFTY 500 index witnessed a roller-coaster ride, with some stocks seeing significant gains while others faced the heat. The top performers of the day were The New India Assurance Company Limited, General Insurance Corporation of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Data Patterns (India) Limited, and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

The New India Assurance Company Limited emerged as the star performer, closing at ₹209.0, up by a whopping 19.98% from the previous close of ₹174.19. Close on its heels was General Insurance Corporation of India, which surged by 16.46%, ending the day at ₹307.1.

Life Insurance Corporation of India wasn’t far behind, witnessing a solid 9.71% jump to reach ₹677.65. Data Patterns (India) Limited and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited also had a fruitful day, with their stocks rising by 6.87% and 6.65% to close at ₹1979.65 and ₹152.25, respectively.

However, it wasn’t a rosy picture for all. The bottom performers of the day included CG Power and Industrial Solutions, K.P.R. Mill, Paytm (One97 Communications Limited), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, and Nippon Life India Asset Management.

Leading the pack of laggards was CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, which dipped by 6.77% to close at ₹429.15. K.P.R. Mill Limited and Paytm also faced a tough day on the trading floor, with their stocks falling by 3.80% and 3.34% to settle at ₹854.2 and ₹892.54, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services and Nippon Life India Asset Management rounded off the list of underperformers, with their stocks slipping by 3.03% and 2.87% to finish the day at ₹263.9 and ₹407.14, respectively.
