NTPC Leads Gainers As Markets Close Higher To End The Week

Friday’s trading saw a mixed bag of gainers and losers on the NIFTY 50 index. NTPC emerged as the top performer, while Hero MotoCorp trailed at the bottom. Here is a detailed analysis of the day’s trading action.

The top gainer of the day was NTPC, with a significant 2.02% gain on its last close price, reaching ₹242.75. Following it closely was ONGC, which saw a 1.66% rise to ₹195.90. Tech Mahindra also made a noticeable move, edging up 1.26% to ₹1,138.15.

Not far behind, Tata Consumers experienced a 1.09% boost, trading at ₹912.70. Ultratech Cement rounded off the list of top five performers, with its stock advancing 0.97% to ₹8,710.85.

On the flip side, Hero was the biggest laggard of the day, slipping 2.16% from its last close to ₹3,105.20. M&M suffered a blow of 1.80%, with its price falling to ₹1,524.10.

Meanwhile, HCL Tech descended 0.95% to trade at ₹1,255.45. Titan also took a hit, down 0.83% at ₹3,256.35. Lastly, Hindalco lost some ground, with a minor dip of 0.65%, closing at ₹481.30.
